Staff training & Assessment
North East Mountaineering has a long term relationship with a number of organisations and centres to provide training and assessment for their staff both new and existing. We work closely with our clients to tailor the courses to their requirements whilst ensuring high quality delivery of up to date and industry wide good practice. Many such courses are run as part of a wider Technical Advice service delivered to the organisation.
- Dependant on training topics
Through our extensive experience with the management, delivery and strategic development of climbing centres and adventure activities we provide a the very best tailored advice, training and assessment service for a number of organisations.
The level of input of our Technical Advice/Expert services vary from client to client. Depending on what they require and their existing setups this may only include advising on existing operations and oversight of operational documentations through to the creation of all documentation, procedures and risk assessments as well as training and assessment of new and existing staff.
Advice on design and operational consideration for the likes of artificial climbing structures is also available with further technical advice for construction of such facilities from one of our working partners; Dream Climbing Walls.
Traverse wall training & activities
Traverse walls have become very popular in primary schools, sports complexes and community centres. Some have been there for a long period of time and others are popping up across the country.
Having staff (including teaching, pupil support and active school coordinators) unskilled in the use of traverse walls can benefit the facility greatly.
Some of this training can be tied into the Fundamentals of Climbing 1 course.
- Health and safety
- Tightening and replacing holds
- Movement principles
- Games and activities
- linking use of the wall to curriculum outcomes
